What Is A Paleolithic Diet?
Many health experts now suggest that you can stay healthy by following the eating habits of Cavemen (our ancestors). Palolithic diets take you back to basics and help you in achieving your weight loss goals and a healthy body and mind. It is also known as Blueprint diet, or a hunter-gatherer diet. This diet was conceived with an idea that our ancestors were much healthier and stronger than us. Essentially the diet followed by them was quite different from what we eat today.
What Food Is There In Paleolithic Diets?
Well, there are many versions of Paleo diet that you can try. Most of the Palolithic diets include foods that are easily available. These include fruits, fish, roots, vegetables, meats, and nuts. Meats are mainly sourced from the animals that feed open pastures and live in natural surroundings. Certain food items such as salt, refined sugar, processed oils and grains are excluded from the diet.
In most of the variations, only water is allowed. As for sweeteners, only limited portions of honey can be taken in most of the Palolithic diets. However, some of the plans allow some flexibility and you can easily modify the according to your needs, but few others are much stricter. They not only encourage fasting, but also promote the consumption of raw foods so that you can get all nutrients, vitamins and minerals in their natural form.
Vegetables are also an important part of Blueprint diet, and they are allowed only in raw form. Although vegetables are generally cooked before they are eaten, but only those vegetables that can be consumed in raw form are permitted in Paleo diet.
Almost all kinds of foods are permitted in Palolithic diets, but juices, processed foods, beverages, dried fruits, and refined products are avoided, as they were not consumed by caveman.

Diary products are not permitted in Paleo diet. Instead, you can get the required calcium from almonds, and coconut milk. Some oils such as flax seed oils, fish oil, olive oils, and nut oils are permitted in Paleo diet.
